Horz

Over the last six months there has been some creatively steaming activity in Novi Sad invloving a whole group of musicians/artists. Six music albums of original music were recorded, five of which i took part in. Few artists did the album covers then. We called the whole thing Horz, kind of like a music label but hoping perhaps to involve different forms of creative expression… we’ll see where it goes.

There is some truly great music to hear, if you hop onto www.horz.co – there is something peculiar for everyone with a bit of an adventurous music taste.

Thanks to all involved in making this happen.

Schimnik on tour or “The Secret of Tuning to 432hz”

I’m happy not to know what this duo is going to sound like, at all. Apart from the fact that Vasil tuned his Ableton live set to 432hz and that i should do the same before meeting to work the material. Why 432hz i asked? Apparently, 8hz is the resonance of Earth, its “heartbeat”. 432hz resonates with 8hz. There is an article about it: https://attunedvibrations.com/432hz-healing/

Conspiracies – Chris Cutler

[2017 Kuda.org]

KUHN FU

Kuhnspiracy-retardedKUHN FU

You can never get comfortable with any of the tracks and that is a good thing as this style of music is made to be radical and shifting under your feet. KUHNSPIRACY is not for the faint of heart, but adventurous music lovers may just get the right kick from their craziness.”

-rockthebodyelectric.com

”Kuhnspiracy is tons of fun, both in the compositions and the improvisations, and this is definitely a band with a sound all their own and the talent to make it work.”

-Jon Davis

Ziv Taubenfeld – bass clarinet
Christian Kuehn – el. guitar & composition
Esat Ekincioglu – double bass
Lav Kovac – drums

Although their overall style is jazz, Kuhn Fu is not afraid to go to many different places. I wish that such a special group would gain more interest in the future.”

Howling Owl

HowlingOwl_15

HOWLING OWL

Latvian keyboardist Evija Vebere met up with Serbian drummer Lav Kovac and together they decided to make a strange concoction of wild angular rhythmic music that combines a manic childlike energy with an eclectic imagination. Wrapped around Evija’s faintly frightening fairytale lyrics, it is made all the more disturbing by being part-sung part-screamed by the charming ecstatic child-like elfin Evija. Lav’s drumming is imaginative and exploratory. Only a year old, they are a band we expect to hear a lot more of. (JS)

-Brighton Source

Evija Vebere – vocals, microKORG synth
Lav Kovač – drums, keyboards & laptop

Howling Owl called their music avant-pop but are dubbed by some as having “the most eclectic, liberal approach to modern music.” They transform from song to song like a chameleon, bravely walks on the rocky borders of the energy of punk, transcendent states of minimalism, with a guilty pleasure for catchy melodies.
The band has quickly established itself as one of the most unique and promising new acts in Europe. They have been invited to festivals such as The Great Escape (UK), Liverpool Sound City (UK), Positivus (LV), Waves (SK), Glimps (BE), and had received very positive response both from audience and critics.

It’s their charming, fun energy that does it, it seems. Evija Vebere came from a fairy tale. Lav Kovac escaped the heated asphalt of post-war. They formed a bubble, making music, everyday, Howling Owl is their life-story being played out in synths and subtlety.

In 2015 they released their debut EP Dance For Common Sense, featuring what quickly became a live favourite at Sound City, Watch Out. They since followed up and impressive outing at The Great Escape with ‘new howl’ Tic Tac. An impressive hybrid of Evija’s vocal charm and throbbing synth, and Lav’s frantic drumming sequences. Their vast progression is clear and they’re onto something special, very special.
